The Summer Reception is one of the highlights of the Society’s year and this is an opportunity to meet with fellow members and to bring guests to the event.

We are delighted that this year the The Rt Hon James Cleverly, has agreed to speak at our event. The Summer Reception will be held just a few days after the General Election so what positions will be held by Parliamentarians is uncertain but as you are all aware James Cleverly has served as Home Secretary since November 2023 and prior to that as Foreign Secretary. I am sure that many of you will be keen to hear his views as Parliament reconvenes.

You may want to note that the Carlton Club operates a dress code within the ‘public’ areas of the clubhouse.  Gentlemen are expected to wear a tailored jacket and formal trousers together with a collared shirt and tie (no cravats). Ladies are expected to wear commensurate business or formal day wear.
